WIN TICKETS TO AN EVENING OF ARETHA FRANKLIN
From the sell-out producers of An Evening of Marvin Gaye and An Evening of Roots, Rock, Reggae, Don’t Stop the Beat Productions presents a Birthday tribute to the Queen of Soul: AN EVENING OF ARETHA FRANKLIN with Shirma Rouse and live band!
Shirma’s rich, powerful and soulful voice makes her one of the most popular singers of the Netherlands and after her appearance on The Voice her singing career hasn’t stopped. Shirma is excited to be playing Theatre Royal Stratford East in a London debut!
Her musical journey started as backing vocals for Chaka Khan, Michael Bolton, Alain Clark, Candy Dulfer and Anouk. Anouk represented the Netherlands in 2013 at the Eurovision Song Contest and Shirma Rouse was proclaimed as best backing vocal by The Eurovision Times.
Shirma has released five albums and her third album, Shout It Out Loud was awarded in 2015 with Edison Jazzism Audience Award.
In 2017 and 2018 Shirma Rouse honoured the 75th birthday of Aretha Franklin with The Queen of Soul Celebration Tour, a series of concerts in the Netherlands and of Shirma’s theatre tour Shirma sings Aretha. In March 2017 Shirma Rouse released her highly anticipated 4th studio album, Soul Serenade, a heart-warming tribute to love with newly written songs, a duet with US soul sensation Ryan Shaw, classic songs like ‘Imagine’ and ‘Let It be’ have been newly arranged.
In August of 2018, Aretha Franklin suddenly passed away. Shirma was asked by RTL Late Night to go to Detroit to attend the funeral, a very emotional and special request. Here she decided to honour the Queen of Soul one more time with a series of acoustic concerts: A TRIBUTE! which was performed from this year.
Question: What is the name if Shirma Rouse’s highly anticipated 4th studio album?
